Best mayoral campaign slogan for jesse jackson jr.

Run Jesse, Run

What a difference four years makes. Who can even remember the names of Daley’s opponents in the 2003 election, when Mayor for Life seemed attainable given the city’s seemingly constant stream of success stories under the current administration. Since then, Chicago’s Camelot is looking more like Watergate, with the mayor awash in a series of scandals that overshadow his accomplishments, such as the magnificent success of Millennium Park. Enter a very familiar and very formidable name, Jesse Jackson Jr. Lacking his father’s baggage, and perhaps some of his charisma, JJJ’s entrance into the 2007 election would deliver a much-needed shot of adrenaline into the mayoral arena and, hopefully, re-energize the public as well. Of course, Daley might emerge the winner once again, but like a prizefighter preparing for a championship bout, we’d like to see the mayor whip his team into fighting shape in any case.
