It’s unfair to compare what Pilsen’s Chicago Art Department does to that of the Art Institute or the University of Illinois at Chicago. But it takes some real moxie to even feign competition with such goliaths. And if there’s one thing that founders Nat Soti, Nathan Peck and Mike Nourse have in excess, it’s moxie. Offering a curriculum of a mere five-to-six classes per semester, the school’s not accredited in any way, though each of the instructors have university-teaching experience. The school offers a great way for the general public to pick up skills in video editing, VJing, dance and drawing and who-knows-what-else as its roster grows and list of subjects expand.
