Best monthly queer dance party
Formerly Known As… Queer and bored on the first Thursday of every month? Then you must not have heard of Formerly Known As…(which is “formerly known as” Trans_Mission), the GLBTQ dance party at Big Chicks. While FKA’s original mission was to support the trans community, everyone else supports <I>it</I> and queers of all kinds frequent the most unpretentious and entertaining night, which always has a theme. DJ Reagonmix and guest DJs spin an exciting mix of danceable top 40s and indie-electro tracks while the crowd parties, decked out in whatever the theme may be (past themes have been Jocks vs. Nerds, The Future and Alter Egos). Even if you aren’t the costume-wearing kind, you’ll fit right into the gayest melting pot north of Boystown.
